Linux and FREE audio plugins

After years of hard work and successful development there are still few persons aware that is possible to produce music of great and professional quality with Linux. What all people know is the hard work to set up a pc to make it a Linux based DAW, but, even if it’s still not so simple, it’s less tricky than it might seem.

I don’t pretend to write a great post on how to do it, but I can give you some links to help you starting to build and install your own linux DAW with the awesome advantage of the FREE software.

Here you are some useful links to start (I really liked that ones, sorry but some of them are written in Italian!):

Just simply links that you can reach with a quick google search 😉

Just few days ago, thanks to WINE, VSTHost and FREE plugins by LePou and TSE I managed to get some KILLER sounds playing my crappy and cheapy SG guitar obtaining good results, in the below image you can find how I connected these plugins on VSTHost application:

  1. TSE 808, great tube pre
  2. LePou LECTO, one of the best free amp sim on the net
  3. KeFIR, small app to load IR impulses to emulate a cab

In the next days I’ll talk about that deeper attaching some mp3s for you 😉

VSTHOST + Lepou LECTO + TSE 808 + KeFIR
