Deimos updates

I’ve been away from my blog for a long time (as usual) but I’d like to give you some updates about Deimos anyway: within the end of March we’ll finalize lead and backing vocals recording sessions, we’re late on our plans beacuse of typical problems that we always have to face due to our permanent unlucky state, but we’re confident that in the next months we’ll have a release! Our new EP called “TerminUs” will have great guest musicians so stay tuned following our website for latest news about our next creature ;)

In the meantime “Helloray – a tribute to Helloween and Gamma Ray” album (by Epicus Records) is finally OUT NOW on iTunes and I think you really should check it out. I’ll feature in the album as 5th Element bass player with our “Judas” cover with Morby (Domine) on lead vocals and, of course, as Deimos bass player with our “Land Of The Free” cover which was recorded in 2009 with Flavio Santagostino on vocals and Riccardo Piroli on lead guitar. In my opinion the album is a kickasses one, I hope distribution could reach all of you! Below you can find the album teaser. Release date is planned for march 26th so BUY IT! ;)

Visit Deimos ReverbNation profile, you’ll find soon other clip of our new songs and, if all goes as planned, a great surpise for all of you, you’ll see!

Webank down

Webank Down problemi 10 ottobre 2011

We want back Wikipedia and dignity

Riflessioni, Vita | Posted by Santo
Oct 04 2011

If it’s true that the web is the largest way of information spreading it’s also true that it isn’t free in all the countries over the world. According to Freedom House Italy is a “partially free” country. Even if you can think that’s a strange way of classifying, last events in Italy arised from a shameful way of government make us think. More than some time ago.

Italian Wikipidia has temporarly black out its pages to protest against an unfair law that could make the change for our country from “partially free” to “not free” at all. To avoid the reborn of past ghosts, with rules that recall the censorship of those dictatorships that slashed humanity, it’s mandatory to share and to use the web exactly in the way that’s meant to be (and that “someone” want to drop): as FREE as we can, to let know the world that Italians WANT to be free.

If you have a Facebook account click on “Like” on this page (even if you’re not Italian, it’s just if you like your freedom): Rivogliamo Wikipedia, No alla legge bavaglio

Spread the message now, until it’s still possible.

5th Element on SignMeTo (Roadrunner Records)

5th Element on SignMeToIt’s been some days that 5th Element are on SignMeTo, the “focused” promotion service by Roadrunner Records. What do I mean with “focused”? It’s a website totally addressed to everyone that hope to be noted by some Roadrunner scout, that’s why I said “focused”, bands have the opportunity to do some free promotion to their songs and, in the same time, could happen that some scouts of the famous label visit their SignMeTo profile, listening to their songs and maybe becoming interested in the project ;)

5th Element are on SignMeTo since last sunday (up to now it’s a very short time) but they alredy reached (I say it with pride) first place in the “Daily Metal Chart” and 3rd place in the “Weekly” one. It’s all thanks to you! Help us to remain in the charts and maybe climb a little higher! If you believe in 5th Element like me sign up (registering take about 15 seconds, it’s also possible to link your facebook profile) and after your account activation and avatar uploading please rate our page and leave a comment if you like! Help us to maintain alive the opportunity to have a Roadrunner Records scout on our profile ;)

Ubuntu & Lexmark 2500 series

Ubuntu | Posted by Santo
Jan 13 2011

After thousands of google searches and many efforts I finally installed my Lexmark X2500 on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Everybody knows problems related to Lexmark printers, above all about Ubuntu (and Linux ditros in general) support with drivers extremely difficult to find and install.
After I noticed this post I decided to do a test on my printer and with enormous wonder I did it!
So I decided to write a little guide on official italian Ubuntu-it Wiki. The page was published some days ago, you can find it here:

You can find the release news on the Wiki Blog
